Canadian Insurer ING Chooses Linux For Business Applications

General News ING Canada bought IBM's eServer zSeries servers running Linux to power the insurer's business applications, IBM said Wednesday. In addition, ING contracted with IBM for maintenance and implementation services.

IBM products and services will enable ING to consolidate computer systems and increase operational efficiencies, Louis Cyr, vice president of infrastructure services for ING, said. ING is the largest provider of property and casualty insurance in Canada.
