Draft Report & Appendixes - Release 0.3


The draft report of the open source software study commissioned by the Government of Canada is now available for public comment.

The report is provided as two files. Report.pdf contains the main body organized in five Chapters that cover the methods and data measured in the study, and the analysis of trends and forecasts of the future. Appendix.pdf contains a series of appendixes with detailed information from the Study, including questionnaire results, profiles, licenses and
scenario workshop report.

The report is available at Please use the comment form provided (Comments.rtf) referencing the relevant line numbers for submitting your feedback.

The report is long, so any level of comment you are able to provide will be very much appreciated. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

No problem. I''ve just finished reading the full report, and will be going through it again to provide feedback. The references to collaboration being a key benefit of OSS are of great interest to me, as that is usually the part of OSS that people I deal with seem to miss, instead they focus on the ''free'' part.
