Site upgrades

General News I'm in the process of upgrading the CanOpenER servers to the latest and greatest Mandrake 9.2 (plus some known good Cooker while I'm at it). Most of it should be seamless, but you may experience some hiccups along the way.

One thing that is not functioning as of yet is the mailing list archives. I'm moving the mail server to a new box, which doesn't seem to like me right now, so it's taking longer than I anticipated.

Shouldn't be more that a couple of days to have everything running smoothly again.

The mail server is now on a new box, so the archives have moved over to that box: http://lists.canopener.ca/mailman/listinfo/

The whole CanOpenER network is now behind a stable firewall (Shorewall), has 4 seperate inside boxes (Postfix/Mailman, Apache2, MySQL and Nagios/Cacti/Syslog-ng/DNS), has solid backups and is sitting on a 100Meg switch. Overall it should be much more responsive, and should let me focus a little more on content instead of tweaking :)

As I said before, if you run into problems, let me know - webmaster@canopener.ca
