Linux Has anyone read John Dvorak's article in PCMag regarding the big deal between Microsoft and Sun? Dvorak seems to think that Sun may drop StarOffice, cut updates to Open Office and de-optimize Java for Linux. Dvorak also seems to think that this deal will kill negotiations between Sun and Apple. He said Apple was interested in creating a super office suite based on StarOffice code. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

With Safari already based on KHTML, and KOffice supporting/switching to OASIS, so documents can flow freely between OpenOffice.org and KOffice, I would put money on Apple building on the KOffice core.

Maybe QT will surplant Java in the cross-platform arena....
